Talon
MILITARY PROVING GROUNDS
Talon is a place of nightmares. Gravity is 1.5 Guild standard, the ground is swampy, and the rain is rancid. So of course, it’s the world the Guild chose for training military recruits. The first trial is to merely stand up after exiting the transport. Failure is not tolerated. Those who ultimately finish become some of the strongest beings in the galaxy. When deployed on other worlds, the physical exertion required to carry out military operations seems like child’s play by comparison. So the Guild starts with the upper hand.

GUILD COMMANDERS
Recently, Talon has been more active than ever. The Guild is bringing in recruits from all across the Wilds. Multiple military corporations appear to be competing to build the strongest forces. Whether that is to unite against a common enemy or to clash, it’s hard to say. Either way, the number of trained military soldiers has skyrocketed in the past couple of decades. As has each soldier’s might and competency. Guild augmentative technology has certainly helped in this regard.
Whereas Kallosian soldiers were once far and away the strongest, now other species can reach similar pinnacles of power, thanks both to training in extreme gravity and strength-enhancing exoskeletal systems.
This evening of the playing field means that Kallosians are no longer shoo-ins for commander positions. Guild military squads have promoted commanders of all species in recent years. And they are seeing equal success on missions across these squads. The designation of Commander is an honor that most Talon recruits chase with all they have—very few ever earn it, but at least now it is open to all who want to try.
With greater might and more refined strategic planning, Guild military corporations are becoming as strong as they were back in the Core Worlds. Whatever battles they are preparing to fight will be some of the most intense the Wilds has seen since the Tempest eruption.
