Seeda

TOO DESIREABLE TO SURVIVE

It’s as though the galaxy knew Seeda would be important and adorned it with the Crown Nebula – or perhaps hemmed it in. Status is often a trap. The bounty of natural resources on Seeda made it a target for the Guild’s greed. The planet’s once breathtaking landscape of sharp, craggy mountains, sheer cliffs, and rocky seas has been drilled, carved, and mined away. Over decades of extraction, the world has been flattened. Still, efforts continue, and will not stop until Seeda is nothing more than the specter of a sovereign.

A lot of the things the Guild makes are chintzy - made of materials like thing plastics and dry rubbers. These things made cheap, sold for more than they're worth, break down or wear out quickly so they have to be replaced. The Guild wants that. But there are places where corners can't be cut, at least not as severely. One of those is in the materials to build Starships. Everythign that makes coin relies on starships that can stand up to the forces of superlight speeds. They carry load after load of product, fuel, cargo, exports. That cycle cannot afford to break down or wear out. Ships built on Roost are some of the highest quality exports the Guild makes. The materials matter the iron ore comes from Seeda. The world weighs x less diameter shrunk. Most pure and thickest veins of it anywhere in the galaxy. Ultimately it will run out or the world will fall out of orbit. It has shifted orbit since changing mass and shape. There are balancers who try to keep the mining operations going on all sides of the world simultaneously so as not to lose it.

OUSTERS

With the Guild corporations having no worker protections to speak of it is often dangerous working conditions. Long hours, no safety standards. Corporations that do care about safety usually priced out of the market because it costs to care. Workers have formed groups that want to kick the Guild corporations out of their work areas. They could run it better without corporation. Worker run - they would take care of their own and they would share the profits. They have come to be known as the outsers. Not well organized across galaxy, but groups exist across galaxy that are doing the same thing. The bad situation gives rise to this across the galaxy. It does catch on a little - as workers are often relocated. The spirit has found its way to Glance. Unknown if it was something they heard or organic uprising. Not kicking the Guild out Kicking the Salt Lord out. Will it leave room for the Guild to come in? Will the workers keep it? Will they shut it all down? Might be the first group to succeed in kicking out the hierarchical leaders. ",
