KALLOS
BLOODTREES AND BATTLEFIELDS
The mighty have the furthest to fall. True of the towering Kallosians, and true of their warrior culture. Kallos was once a magnificent world of bloodtree forests, ritual dwellings, and honored battlefields. Stumbling upon it, the Guild saw the value of harvesting the petrified trees and conscripting the diamond skin warriors. Now, the ancestors are all but forgotten and the battlefields belong to Guild production plants. Kallosian culture fell so far it nearly vanished. It is a great honor to behold the might of the few remaining warriors.

KALLOSIAN WRITTEN TRADITION
Most worlds in the Concord galaxy that support sentient life first went through an Age of Monsters, during which massive beasts roamed the land and plagued the depths of the seas. Almost universally, these worlds then trended toward evolving smaller creatures that over time developed sentience.
From there things diverged significantly, with sentient species on some worlds progressing rapidly toward use of tools, development of language, and harnessing of fire, which then led to industrial and technological advancements, while others lagged behind, lingering in the primal hunting phase.
That being said, most sentient populations developed within a timeline that was within a standard deviation of the average, with a few standouts. Most notably, the Kallosians impressively rapid evolution of language and the written word.
There is evidence that as soon as the first Kallosian put stone to stone, they began writing. It seems to have been an obsession of sorts. Stone tablets dating back to some of the first Kallosian warrior tribes are stacked as high as the tallest bloodtrees.
Their written tradition has served the Kallosians well in their effort to remember their ancestors. There’s not much that can be forgotten when it is all recorded. From the most glorious battlefield victories, to the gut-wrenching moments of defeat, every moment is captured in words, and in this way every warrior is remembered.
With this kind of emphasis on the written tradition, it’s no surprise that Kallosians are very particular about word choice. They have been known to spend hours crafting traditional battle poems that are only three lines long. It’s an exercise in precision and they task themselves with making every word perfect.
While Kallosian battle poems may not make for the most compelling reading, they are evocative and dripping with honorable sentiment.
