Hox
A GALACTIC DISAPPOINTMENT
When a survey found precious fuel salt on this small, stormy world, the Guild raced to build a spacelane skirting the volatile Cinder Nest nebula and enlist thousands of workers from across the galaxy – all this amid the Robot War. But it turned out to be a false positive. Or maybe an intentional distraction – a band of sparked robots fell off the Guild’s radar during the Hox Debacle. Either way, the Guild abandoned Hox. Since then, the discarded workers have become the tightest-knit melting pot community in the Wilds. The one upside of a big letdown.

HOX SURVEY (There is no text in this entry)
TUCKED AWAY BEHIND A NEBULA
Thanks to what turned out to be a misleading survey report, multiple Guild corporations relocated significant portions of their workforces to Hox—and shortly thereafter they discovered that the fuel salts they had thought were there, were, in fact, not.
Their investments instantly dried up and it was all they could do to pull out of this debacle with a shred of dignity. They couldn’t afford to ship their supplies, mining equipment, or workforces off Hox, so they left it all behind.
Workers from all across the galaxy wound up stuck on this tiny world tucked behind the Cinder Nest nebula. They had nothing more than some temporary housing, set-up supplies, and the first load of mining equipment. They made the most of all of it.
They built a community from the jump, one that was a melting pot of all their different species. Together they made the temporary housing both comfortable and permanent, they planted seeds from the food supply turning what was supposed to be a start-up into something sustainable, and they built structures like schools, stores, and medical facilities out of the massive mining equipment left behind.
They shared everything they had, including their traditions, forming one of the closest, most diverse cultures in the Wilds. The fact that they are tucked away from the Guild’s interest or reach works in their favor, allowing them to remain untouched and have the space and time to make beautiful things. That includes all things Morack—Morack is one of the few products they’re able to get delivered to Hox.
Everyone has a different recipe for the tough eel, and everyone thinks their recipe is the best. This has turned into one of the most hotly contested topics on Hox. An impromptu cook-off competition fires up about once a season, where in denizens take to their stoves and cook up their personal version of the best Morack ever made. Lines have been drawn. Insults have been hurled. But in the end, the people of Hox seem to recognize they have more in common than not—most people on Hox actually like the taste of Morack without Universal Flavor. That’s a rare opinion, and the fact that it’s held by such a diverse population says a lot about the genuine nature of the melting pot they’ve built in the last few generations.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO COOK MORACK
With people of Hox hailing from worlds across the Wilds and diverse backgrounds, there's both a coming together and sometimes disagreements, competition and straight up arguments. One of the most heated debates is over how to best cook Morack. Shipped in from Leviathan, Morack comes in patties, jerkey, cubes, raw, bone-in, puree, paste, sausages, dried skin chunks. Everyone has a different recipie. And a different way of saying Morack. LInes have been drawn. Cook offs have come to pass. The thing none of them seem to realize is that they have more in common than not - most peopl eon Hox actually like Morack - without Universal Flavor, and without hot sauce.
MYSTIC FRIENDLY
A melting pot might be the reason Hox is friendly to Mystics. Seems that more wound up here than other places. Easier to hide from the Guild where they don't bother people. Don't seem to want to be part of Hox culture. On a world so small enough little corners. Mystics check in with each other here. They can hide out here. They can seek refuge and companionship and understanding. Their differences make them targets. The guild eliminates what they fear. Mystics are feared. Here they hone powers. They feel less alone. Develop conduits to channel their powers.
